Position Purpose/Objective:

The Configuration Data Management (CDM) Analyst position will be responsible for maintaining a robust CDM system at the UTAS IAPS Interiors Seating business. The CDM Analyst will be responsible for identifying and implementing enhancements to the current CDM system. This position will be responsible for the methodology, process(es), and tools for the control of product throughout its entire life cycle to ensure the integrity of the system baseline.

The individual will also be responsible for ensuring Configuration Identification, Control, Status Accounting, Traceability, Record Retention, and Audits, are maintained at the appropriate level and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a robust configuration management system

  • Develop CDM team process and quality improvements

  • Perform tasks in accordance with Configuration Data Management Procedures

  • Deliver proper communication to stakeholders

  • Perform other duties as required and available for overtime

  • Ensure quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures

  • Audit work area for safety compliance

  • Adhere to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct

Qualification:

Experience Required:

  • 3+ years of related experience in Configuration and Data Management

  • 3+ years’ experience in using CM-related tools and metrics to manage CM activities; experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and SAP [or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system] preferred.

  • Configuration Management experience with a company that has design and manufacturing responsibility for technical products

  • Preferred: Aerospace industry experience

Skills Required:

  • Ability to learn configuration management practices, policies, and procedures

  • Possess the ability to create/analyze configuration accountability records

  • Ability to verify that configuration documentation is compliant with applicable requirements

  • Industry-recognized Configuration Management certification that promotes integrated Configuration Management preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors

  • Demonstrate ability to work independently; a highly motivated self-starter, including ability for sound decision making and creative problem solving to pursue the necessary course of action

  • Ability to inspire confidence in technical approaches with in-depth domain expertise and clear, persuasive communications

  • Ability to interpret drawing requirements per industry standards preferred

  • The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and be proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high pace environment

  • Understanding of commercial and/or military aerospace design protocol is desired

Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business preferred
