Lockheed Martin Engineering Senior Manager in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Description: Lead the Colorado Springs Enterprise Defense & Sustainment (ED&S) group for Engineering and Technology (E&T). This position will split time approximately 50/50 between functional management responsibilities (50%), and support to ED&S programs and new business capture efforts (50%).

As the Colorado Springs ED&S lead, you will:

• Interact directly with the OPIR acquisition and user communities to understand customer needs and communicate status on baselined work and issues.

• Provide dynamic staffing support and coordination to ensure the workforce forecast reflects the latest program requirements and those needs are met in a timely manner.

• Be a Strategic Thinker and Thought Leader. Effectively assess, develop, and deploy talent to enable business growth and program performance - today and tomorrow.

• Recruit and lead the selection process to continuously fill the pipeline with talent.

• Foster integration and collaboration across the programs, the portfolio, and the E&T organization.

• Employ creative techniques to spark innovation, boost morale, and build high performing teams.

• Demonstrate Servant Leadership, removing obstacles to help the team execute program commitments within all cost, schedule and quality constraints.

• Nurture a continuous learning environment that enables skill and domain knowledge transfer.

• Plan, implement, and execute programmatic goals and objectives for Development and Sustainment contracts.

• Lead the organized collection, tracking and resolution of technical issues.

• Lead the development and maintenance of procedures & tools for technical product planning.

• Ensure timely and correct production of Bases of Estimate (BOEs) for both on-contract growth and new business opportunities.

• Provide timely guidance and feedback to the execution team to ensure cost, schedule, technical and talent development objectives are clear, and solutions/approaches are validated, evaluated, and modified as required.

• Ensure the completion of all internal and external commitments to both the line of business and the E&T organization on or ahead of schedule, with high technical quality, and within budget.

• Contribute to proposal submissions, program level reviews, and technical reviews.

• Support process improvement goals and objectives; support opportunity development and, where appropriate, share any improvements across the E&T organization.

• Ensure engineering processes are in place, updated & followed.

• Support AS9100 initiatives and audits.

• Assist in leading LM Space employee morale and engagement activities in Colorado Springs.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3 years of previous engineering functional management leadership experience

• Experience with both competitive and on contract growth proposals

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience working on both development and sustainment contracts

• Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission area

• Experience in staffing dynamic program needs

• Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to shifting priorities and to effortlessly multitask across those priorities.

• Ability to inspire collaboration, confidence, and motivation of teams in dynamic environments.

• Demonstrated process improvement mindset.

• Experience forming and growing a high performing multi-discipline team.

• The candidate should possess a high degree of ethics, strong core values and an optimistic outlook, and show the ability to work independently with initiative, creativity and innovation.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
