Job Title: Inventory Business Analyst

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Salary Range: $39,000 - $72,400 annually

This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

The primary role of the Inventory Business Analyst is to proactively monitor and analyze buy inventory in a way that addresses “up-stream” issues in inventory management and strengthens the analytical capacity of the Planning Team. The primary focus will be to ensure ERP system is accurately maintained to improve inventory optimization in order to reduce shortages, maximize production throughput, and prioritize the opportunities which will create the biggest impact to inventory management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze forecast data and sales trends to ensure buy planning attributes are in accordance with market needs to achieve on-time-to-market (OTM) of 8 days or less.

  • Data analysis and reporting of key performance indicators such as: delivery performance, backlog, performance to schedule and inventory turns.

  • Drives continuous process improvement, strives to improve efficiency, likely to challenge processes where favorable alternatives may be available.

  • Maintain data integrity of ERP planning parameters. Parameters such as lead timesUbertool.

  • Develop a comprehensive suite of standard and ad-hoc reports to support Inventory, Days on Hand and Excess and Obsolescence (E&O)/ reports at the business unit, market, region and brand levels. Collaborate with Materials team to develop an efficient automated system to deliver reports seamlessly and efficiently to the users

  • Develop report mock-ups and data visualizations leading to better understanding on business problems and analytical insights

  • Uncover supply chain and commercial opportunities / challenges at the business unit, market, region and brand levels. Collaborate with all relevant functional areas to help quantify opportunities / challenges and develop action plans to realize the potential

  • Identify opportunities to improve the information delivery mechanisms through improved processes or application of superior technology

  • Reporting, advising and leading projects on process improvements.

  • Develops a working knowledge of end-to-end inventory management, best practices, as-is business process, event participants and triggers, master data management, transactional data management, item lifecycle, including sourcing, stocking, distribution, replenishment, reverse logistics, and/or dispositions and any and all regulatory compliance guidelines and/or ordinances that influence the business process.

  • Utilizes knowledge to support analysis and develop recommendations based on business needs, or opportunities to drive cost savings or efficiencies.

  • Leads strategic analysis to support efficiencies in inventory management.

  • Performs data analysis on Key Performance Indicators and makes actionable recommendations.

  • Tracks and facilitates the completion of action items. Distributes timely and comprehensive communication to appropriate stakeholders.

Key Competencies and Success Factors:

  • Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited time and information and can determine decision making criteria based on priorities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, independent problem resolution, proven leadership ability, and the ability to manage the requirement of others.

  • Data access/retrieval skills with extensive experience in data analysis, data manipulation using MS Excel and/or other tools as provided.

  • Working knowledge of ERP system and material attributes.

  • Working knowledge of Power BI a plus.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • BS/BA degree in business or engineering discipline

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in analyzing data relating to product forecasting, master scheduling, or shipment forecasting.

  • APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or commitment to obtain within the first 18 months of employment.

  • Experience with rate-based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.

  • Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with visual management systems.
