Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager 1, Capture Management to work in our Colorado Springs, CO or Hunstville, AL locations.
The selected candidate leads capture efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business. Develops capture strategy including business solution for pursuit of opportunities; identifies potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and prices-to-win; participates in bid and proposal activities. Maintains on-going interaction with marketing.
In this position, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
Understanding of missile defense marketplace and stakeholder customer organizations and budgets in order to develop market trends and strategies
Capture/business development activities of Missile Defense programs including customer account management and growth, pipeline management and growth, and customer engagement. Primary focus will be on a Space Sensor Layer for missile defense tracking
Coordination and collaboration with line of business management, strategy, business and finance, contracts and global supply chain, technology and engineering offices and functions
Development and management of capture/business development project funds, schedule, and execution
Simultaneously lead multiple opportunity pursuits and be capable of transitioning an opportunity from assessment through pursuit
Support or lead Requests for Information (RFI) and Proposal responses
Selected candidate must possess the following:
Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and working with a team to develop and implement creative strategies for business growth and/or improvement
Ability to lead a team, monitor work operations and actively assists or provides direction to teammates as required
Excellent written and verbal communications

4 years of relevant experience in engineering, business/project management, supply chain, and/or logistics
1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory role
Experience and adeptness in communicating and collaborating with business and technical professionals
Familiarity of the Department of Defense acquisition processes
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Degree in STEM related discipline
Experience with business development and/or capture activities
Knowledge and experience with missile defense or aerospace systems
Experience with business development, capture or business pursuit efforts
Current/Active DoD Secret Clearance
