The Work

This position is for the Model Based Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) System. The selected applicant will consume use cases, and systems engineering artifacts including definition of Epics and Features to implement customer requested capabilities. Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews. Position will also provide support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance skills in the department.

- Must have the ability to be flexible to support various tasking on short notice

- Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available

Additional responsibilities include:

- Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures

- Reviewing the content and details of technical products

- Acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis

- Be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning and status

Basic Qualifications:

•Qualified candidate must hold an active DoD Final Secret Security Clearance

•Experience with complex command and control systems, mission analysis, performance analysis, requirements solicitation, decomposition, and management, application of modeling to testing and verification and use case development

•Demonstrated experience in the development of models to drive solutions in complex systems is required with specific demonstrated expertise in DoDAF and SysML methodology

•Experience in the development of key diagram types to create logical and physical models that depict static and dynamic behavior, performance, element interactions, internal and external interfaces, states, and modes

•Experience with Cameo (or Magic Draw), Enterprise Architect, Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements (DOORs) to manage multiple product baselines

Desired Skills:

•Should possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Command & Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) System

•Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition is a plus

•Experienced user of the DOORS tool

•Requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower level subsystems and components

•Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system; defining the relationships between internal and external components; communicating system level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users

•Skills generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities

•Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition, as well as knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation are highly desirable

•Experience in transitioning a mature and evolving project into MBSE is highly desired

•Demonstrated ability to implement engineering plans within a project

•Experience with Cyber Security, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and network design are also desired

•Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $128,900 - $247,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
