Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge Blades (CFB) business unit has an immediate opening for a Quality Supervisor (1st Weekend Shift) as a part of our Forgings Center of Excellence organization. The second shift Quality Supervisor objective is to ensure regulatory compliance to corporate policies and Quality requirements to ensure the production of compliant Pratt & Whitney products from internal and external suppliers. This position will work out of our Columbus, GA facility and report to the Quality Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and establish priorities for the Quality organization on second shift, while ensuring team compliance for quality assurance and customer requirements

  • Serve as an issue resolution focal point that works with customer service, Engineering and Operations while driving continuous improvement in products and processes

  • Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities

  • Figure out proper disposition of nonconforming material for incoming receiving when participating in the Material Review Board (MRB) activities

  • Perform as an integrated team leader with Engineering, Customer Service and Operations to investigate and correct various quality issues related to potential product returns, supplier issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests with clear and concise reports to customers/suppliers

  • Participate on cross functional team projects to improve the overall organization and to develop a career path and leadership, with mentoring and assistance

To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience:

Qualification:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You've completed a graduate degree or MBA program.

  • You have 3 or more years’ experience in Quality Management within an Aerospace manufacturing facility, repair station or forging facility.

  • You have experience in Root Cause & Corrective Action, Material Review Board (MRB), Non-Conformance Reviews (NCR), Internal Corrective Actions (ICAR), resolving and preventing potential Quality Escapes.

  • You can interpret blueprints with GD&T symbols, CMM reports, and can communicate quality related matters to Quality and Operations personnel.

  • Your background includes working with ACE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools with a consistent record of cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments.

  • You're certified auditor and an authority in aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001.

  • You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SAP, Team Center and Solumina experience is advantageous

  • Familiarity with turbofan engines and airfoil/blade components preferred; Engineering experience a plus.

Education:

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizen due to working with government contracts

  • You graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management or Supply Chain

  • You have at least 5 years of experience working in a Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Management or Operations Management role within a manufacturing facility
