Senior Project Manager I – Marshall, MN or Columbus, NE

Position Summary:

This is a salaried, exempt-level position reporting directly to the Capex Regional Manager with oversight for projects in North America.

Job Purpose and Impact:

The Senior Project Manager (I) will partner with the business areas and key cross-functional ADM stakeholders to manage expectations for project scope, schedule and budget, as well as to receive buy- in for project implementations while leading a team of professionals to execute on various project initiatives.

In this role, you will ensure high-quality work for projects greater than 12 million dollars with high financial impact and significance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope and plan the delivery of projects according to a roles & responsibility matrix. Execute the project, including costing and implementation according to the Front End Loading (FEL) guidelines

  • Assuring monthly project reporting to the stakeholders through FEL, execution, commissioning, and capitalization and closure

  • Scope change and risk management escalation processes

  • Complying with local legislation and ADM requirements for permitting, safety legislation, quality assurance, HACCP, GMP, Hazop as well as TPS policy

  • Supporting and driving contractor safety through the use of preventative action plans and safety metrics

  • Assure that the safety and reliability of existing equipment is maintained during project implementation

  • Coordinate the team development of all necessary documentation for commissioning, training, maintenance and maintain all records required by legislation and policies

  • Coordinate and provide direction to contractual partners for project execution including the use of a well maintained work breakdown structure

  • Setting up project structure and coordination with project steering committee according project governance guidelines

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably in combination with project management engineering

  • Minimum of 7 years managing several industrial projects of moderate to extreme complexity

  • Experience working with cost engineering and key performance indicators

  • Knowledge of industrial process project planning and scheduling with multi-craft trades, “S” Curves

  • Knowledge of and experience with industrial process project commissioning means and methods

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera or other resource loaded scheduling tools

  • Knowledge of enterprise management systems

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent interpersonal English fluency communication skills, written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects within the agri-processing sector

  • Ability to work with EPC, EPCM companies executing under a variety of contractual methodologies

  • Execution of multi-year projects experience

  • Experience with execution on revamp, brown and green field projects

  • Knowledge of SharePoint
