The Brand Manager, Therapeutic Nutrition-Ensure position works out of our Columbus, OH location in the Nutrition Division. Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active. The Brand Manager is responsible for managing and implementing business strategies and tactics to effectively support delivery of business objectives, including share growth, net sales, and profit margin for the Ensure business. Additional responsibilities include strategic and tactical planning, agency leadership, brand performance analysis, reporting findings and actionable recommendations to senior leadership, project management, fiscal management, and contingency planning.
What You’ll Work On
Responsible for understanding and managing the impact of media mix performance to inform the right activation investments and drive brand consumption in the short term and long-term.
Responsible for managing the media strategy activity associated with the Ensure brand in the US; lead defining media plan objectives, consumer target(s), KPIs, media channels (TV, print, digital), timing and tactical activations for specific messaging and/or promotional campaigns. This includes driving strong collaboration with cross-functional partners, agencies, and subject matter experts to create and commercialize 360 campaigns.
Lead Agency Partners in positioning the brand or brand message in front of a targeted audience through purchasing ad inventory (space and time) on digital and offline platforms, such as websites, radio, and Linear TV. This includes understanding an ever-shifting media landscape, agency briefing, budgeting, leadership alignment process, procurement process and performance tracking.
Lead tactical planning for the Brand media channels such as TV, OTT, Digital, Social, Print and PR.
Manage the alignment and adherence to annual communication calendar with media strategy and tactics, including agency briefings, internal leadership alignment and measurement plans.
Provide direction and feedback to Integrated Agency Team to develop consumer campaigns and core creative assets for TV, print, digital and social channels.
Identify test and learns and future research needs to aid in plan/ long- range plan development.
Analyze marketing programs, opportunities and contingency plans and recommend optimizations to senior management and gain alignment.
Evaluate in market performance of programs to ensure that they are delivering against expectations and business objectives and proactively recommend action to continuously improve key measures.
Manage complex budget monthly with direct input to financial decisions.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups may include external customers and consumers, Area Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Logistics, Public Affairs, Legal, Medical, Executive Management and external vendors or agencies.
Collaborate with the Innovation and Delivery teams to ensure innovations are supported by robust go to market plans.
Product line dimensions and scope vary. Incumbent is accountable for developing and executing strategic and tactical objectives associated with driving product sales including P&L. Actions and decisions will directly affect attainment of brand financial goals and objectives.
BA/BS Degree in Marketing
4+ years of progressively responsible product management experience in either health care/OTC marketing, consumer packaged goods marketing, or a combination of the two.
Demonstrated effective leadership competencies, including leadership in project management.
Demonstrated leadership with agencies including constructive feedback and fast paced decision making.
Financial and budget management experience and skills.
Resourceful marketer with the independence to find solutions to business problems and then act on them to drive results.
Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans.
Ability to translate insights into actions & brand implications.
Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact directly clearly, concisely, and confidently with senior leadership to influence business strategy and investment decisions.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives.
Strong analytical skills and KPI tracking capabilities.
Applies data to support business decisions, strategies, contingency plans, and to provide direction to others.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives. Willing to support others and share best-practices.
Capable of successfully managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
MBA strongly preferred due to the business complexity and strategic focus of the position.
Media plan experience including TV upfront process preferred.
