The Opportunity

This position works out of our Columbus, OH location in the Nutrition Division . In Research & Development, our ambition is providing innovative high-quality products, creating sustainable value, delivering superior user experience, and enhancing health outcomes at all stages of life.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Packaging Product Stewardship team. In this role, you will coordinate and manage packaging material assessments and qualifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

What You’ll Work On

  • Coordinating document collection for packaging material assessments, including reviewing supplier compliance documents, developing packaging test plans, and summarizing data.

  • Managing testing activities for packaging qualifications, including coordinating external testing, verifying results, summarizing data, and troubleshooting.

  • Collaborating with Supplier Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Packaging Engineering, Project Management, and Purchasing groups to support packaging qualification projects.

  • Managing packaging qualification projects under the guidance of a Senior Research Scientist or Scientist.

  • Directing daily activities to gather, verify, and summarize test data while following appropriate procedures.

  • Interacting with other groups to share information, provide updates, and distill technical information for non-technical team members.

  • Managing qualification data through organized entry of qualification information into a database.

Accountability/Scope:

  • Strategy: Projects are assigned with defined scope and goals. Ensure activities align with the project critical path. Manage your time effectively to carry out assigned duties.

  • Quality of Work: Responsible for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of documentation, experimental results, and data assessments.

  • Work Performance: Successfully summarize data, analyze results, formulate conclusions, and review progress with your supervisor. Highlight any out-of-specification or aberrant results to your supervisor for review.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum B.S. in a scientific-related field with 2 years of experience

Preferred

  • Experience with packaging qualification for food contact, packaging food contact regulations, packaging sustainability, packaging migration testing, contaminants, or project management is an advantage.

  • Preferred background in Product Stewardship, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Packaging Engineering, and/ or Data Analytics.

  • Ability to multitask and be efficient in a fast-paced, technical environment.

  • Strong background in managing large Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and establishing key performance metrics using Power BI.

  • This is an on-site role - not a remote role.

  • There is no relocation provided for this role.

  • Travel – 5%

The base pay for this position is $66,700.00 – $133,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
