The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for aCook II to join the culinary team at Sun Deck!Joinone of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a$400M renovation (https://www.costar.com/article/749120602/blackstone-completes-400-million-expansion-at-iconic-san-diego-hotel)and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms,cottagesand villas with65,000 square feetof banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

Classification:Full-Time
Shift:Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate:The pay rate for this role is $21.32 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 1 year as line cook in a fast paced, high-volume restaurant, the ability to adapt to quick service and work with accuracy and efficiency. Must be organized, have good communication skills and the ability to work weekends and Holidays as needed. Previous hotel or resort experience is a plus.
A valid Food Handler’s Card isrequiredforthis position.
What will I be doing?
As a Cook II, you wouldbe responsible forpreparing all food items in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you wouldbe responsible forperforming the following tasks to the highest standards:
Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest
Maintain cleanliness andcomply withfood sanitation standards at all times
Manage guest orders in a friendly,timelyand efficient manner
Ensure knowledge of menu and food products
Stock andmaintaindesignated food stations(s)
Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
Prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production
Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
