The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Sous Chef to join the team at NOBU! Marking the continued expansion of The Del’s culinary experiences, Nobu Del Coronado will be the newest addition to the world-renowned Japanese restaurant empire founded by Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro.

Locatedwithin the iconic Hotel del Coronado and offering sweeping Pacific Ocean views,Nobu Del Coronado will offer over3,700 square feetof stunning indoor andfresco oceanfront dining space, including an outdoor covered patio dining with a pagoda bar and dedicated sushi bar. Nobu Del Coronado will also spotlight Nobu-signature dishes including the iconic Black Miso Cod and Yellowtail Jalapeño, as well as Nobu’s world-renowned sushi, plus locally inspireddishesand cocktails.

Classification: Full-Time

Shift:Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this role will be between $75,000 and $80,000 per year and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?

As Sous Chef, you wouldbe responsible forassistingwith the direction and oversight of all culinary operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, a Sous Chef wouldbe responsible forperforming the following tasks to the highest standards:

Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability

Create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage, as needed

Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety,sanitationand alcohol awareness standards

Assistin monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conductingcounselingandassistingwith evaluations, training,schedulingand assigning work and delivering recognition and reward
