As a Materials and Processes Engineer Sr. you will support a broad range of projects. You will be working side
by side with designers, suppliers, quality, as well as test and manufacturing engineers. You will use your education and experience to develop and evaluate new and innovative technologies.
In this role you will:
• Participate in Materials and Processes Engineering technical assignments related to hardware manufacturing and testing. Assignments will include technical evaluation and support of manufacturing issues/concerns
• Support trade studies, configuration management, change control, and management of obsolescence of COTS and customer hardware
• Have a hand in the development of the program Materials and Processes (M&P) management plan, the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of M&P
• Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement
This position requires a DOD security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility located in Courtland, AL. Interested applicants should be eligible to work on-site full-time

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience in a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines including metals, composites, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, failure analysis, and/or manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of Materials and Processes for product development, improvement, design, application and production.
• To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
• Selected candidates will be required to obtain a minimum clearance level of Secret for long-term employment on this program.
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of environmental and operational requirements for materials in missile applications (flammability, dissimilar metals, stress corrosion, etc.)
• Familiarity with military specifications and Engineering requirements
• Experience with LM corporate tools and/or LM Space PMP tools, command media and personnel
• Contamination Control experience
• Current or Active DoD Secret Clearance

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
