The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a VP of Group Protection Sales to for our West region to join our Sales & Distribution Team supporting Workplace Solutions in the Western Region with inclusion of Dallas, TX.

Background Details

As a VP of Group Protection Sales, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to increase market share & sales revenue within our Group Protection division. You will lead a sales department and ensure that the strategy & tactical exaction drives optimal sales while creating and maintaining strong client relationships with key constituencies for the Western region.

What you'll be doing

  • You will maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

  • You will develop business on behalf of the Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations. In addition, you will direct business in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations.

  • You will direct the identification and implementation of process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality. In addition, you will identify and implement process improvement opportunities for distribution strategies.

  • You will build, enhance & maintain relationships with key senior executives for the Western region to drive sales results, including having a multifaceted understanding of key senior contracts/influencers (existing & targeted).

  • You will lead, establish & oversee the overall sales goals & objectives for the West territory while developing a highly complex strategy to impact on sales revenue/growth. In addition, you will identify new business opportunities while managing & retaining existing business.

  • You will forge strategic partnerships to achieve business objectives in support of the enterprise & collaborate with peers & leadership across the business & external organizations to negotiate for resources needed to accomplish objectives.

  • You will partner with Group Product organization on the development of products, product enhancements, feeding competitive intelligence and market feedback. In addition, you will party with external stakeholders including Broker markets, GAs, TPA’s, Third Party Entities, Enrollment Firms and Ben Admin vendors.

What we’re looking for

Must-have experience (Required):

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

  • 12+ Years of industry/management that directly related to the specific responsibilities of this position, including 5 years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders.

  • Sales Expert and Business Leader; knows the business, the players and has the ability to creates sales plans that enables the business to grow.

  • Strategy and Relationship Management; someone who creatively aligns sales strategy to the broader business strategy; with demonstrated experiences of growing and capturing market share.

  • Talent Developer and thought leadership; someone who has demonstrated history of world class coaching and development of high performing teams.

  • Group Life & Health state license in resident state required upon hire.

The pay range for this position is $295,000 - $750,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
