What will I be doing?

Support the Human Resources team by acting as the face of the department, this role is the first to greet associates and visitors upon arrival. Assisting with the day-to-day operation and coordinating the administration, enrollment and communication of and adherence to procedures relative to associate benefits and associate relations. Facilitate the administration of safety activities, associate recognition events, and recruitment onboarding.

• Assist the Director of Learning and Development with the coordination of associate related events, bulletin boards and the implementing and monitoring of safety programs as well as assist with training benefits in orientation.

• Track and monitor all invoices for human resources, request purchase orders and follow up with Accounts Payable/Receivable to ensure payment was received.

• Assist Recruitment Manager with reference checks, inputting new hires into payroll system ADP, and updating employee data in ADP. Support the Human Resources Team with other duties as needed.

• Assist associates and visitors by answering questions or providing information.

• Order office supplies for HR team and associate events.

• Answer telephones, resolve employee concerns and advise Director or Manager of Human Resources of any EEO or fairness issues, provide clerical support, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace including Spanish.

• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Must possess basic computer skills.

• Must have an interest in Human Resources and willingness to learn federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, workers’ compensation, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their comparable state and local laws (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, ERISA, and NLRA.

• Must be able to lead by example.

• Must have the ability to be proactive and reactive.

• Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day.Walking and standing are occasionally required.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.

• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
