The award-winning Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a Senior Restaurant Manager to join the Aveo Table Bar (https://www.waldorfastoriamonarchbeach.com/dine/aveo-table-bar) Team!

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today, is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.

The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, a lounge, a marketplace, and IRD.

In this role, you will oversee 2 Food & Beverage Managers, 30-35 hourly team members (including servers, bartenders, and support staff) and will report to the Restaurant General Manager of Aveo Table Bar.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of Food & Beverage Management experience, at least 1 year of luxury experience and proven experience working at a 3-meal period restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Preferred qualifications are hotel experience and experience leading other managers.

What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant Manager, you would be responsible for directing and organizing the activities and services of a hotel food and beverage outlet (restaurant, lounge, room service, coffee shop, etc.) in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage all outlet operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Monitor and assess product and service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue
  • Ensure team members have current knowledge of outlet offerings, products, services, facilities, events, pricing and policies and knowledge of the local area and events
  • Recruit, interview and train team members

Salary Range: The annual salary range for this role is $85,000-$95,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
