The DuPont Electronics & Industrial business is seeking a Project Startup Leader at our Dayton, Ohio site. This role develops the commissioning and startup plans and manages the overall activities during the project startup, commissioning, process testing, and product trial stages of the project.

The Dayton Plant is located along Interstate 75 in the City of Dayton, which is in southwest Ohio. The site employs 100 people, including DuPont employees and resident contractors. The Dayton plant produces polymers in batch reactors that are used in a variety of semiconductor applications, including photolithography and semiconductor packaging. The site also produces materials used in inkjet printing.

The greater Dayton area is a great place to live, having all the amenities of a big city along with midwestern charm and affordability. It is home to many museums, outstanding parks, and is a short drive from Columbus and Cincinnati.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans and manages the overall project commissioning and startup activities including process testing and performance, product trials, and final qualification.

  • Ensures that commissioning and startup resource needs are identified early, kept up-to-date, and communicated within the project team and business unit.

  • Responsible for successful authorization of pre-startup safety reviews.

  • Coordinates the efforts of multi-functional disciplines within the commissioning and startup phase including capital engineering, maintenance and operation startup teams, and manufacturing technology engineers.

  • Ensures maintenance and operating procedures (e.g., standard operating procedures, lockout/tagout procedures, etc.) are completed, approved, and in place.

  • Identifies and ensures raw materials, consumable items, etc. are provided for the startup, commissioning, process testing, and product qualification activities.

  • Monitors cost and progress of all commissioning tasks. Assures adherence to schedules and estimates.

  • Creates baseline for process performance.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of project management, process engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Strength in building effective teams and collaboration.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Process Safety Management (PSM)/High Hazard Process (HHP) experience preferred.
