Job Description:
Large Wheel Loaders, Wheel Dozers and Compactors (LWL/WDC) product group takes great pride in developing machine and system solutions for our customers in the Load and Haul division of Resource Industries. As an Engineering Manager for the Machine Integration Organization within LWL/WDC, you will be leading the team that is responsible for the design and development of a wide range of products and processes. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers and project leads in the US with interactions across the global involving our process partners. You will interact and develop strategies with not only the LWL/WDC leaders and team but also in the commercial/marketing, manufacturing facilities and more to ensure that Caterpillar products meet and exceed the current and future requirements of our customers and business. Responsibilities/Job Duties
• Directly manage a team of engineers and project leads mainly in Decatur, IL, providing technical and developmental guidance in the design, development, and build of LWL/WDC machines.
• Lead the product group to develop strategy, business priority, cost methodology, and manage/align budget to enable wining business results.
• Coach the team to develop both their technical expertise and their careers at Caterpillar.
• Manage / coordinate resources from global engineering partners to ensure successful execution of projects.
• Participate in the development of strategy at the division level for improved product and product development processes.
• Coordinate the E2E quality improvement efforts for accountable products. This includes guiding the team to develop interim and permanent improvements.
• Work with the Technical Experts to develop “best practice” processes and tools to enable sustainable improvement and excellence in product development.
• Collaborate with Product and Factory teams to establish team and program priorities.
What you will have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Extensive experience in Engineering
• Significant experience in Product Development
• Significant team or project leadership experience
Top Candidates Will have:
• Management or supervision experience
• Experience with engine and/or cooling installation design and/or development
• Experience in performing or managing quality improvement efforts
• High financial acumen and experience managing budgets
• Familiarity with manufacturing and machine assembly processes

Summary Pay Range:
$156,000.00 - $234,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
