Global NIR Specialist (Scientist III, GG-0037-OP)

ADM Global Quality Control Laboratory

This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will serve as a NIR/FT-NIR subject matter expert within global quality control laboratory group, implementing strategies and supporting tactics for successful NIR/FT-NIR program management in ADM’s quality control laboratories and factories.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to build a robust ADM global benchtop NIR program in quality control laboratories to ensure accurate and reliable data generated by NIR network

  • Implement the requirements for NIR calibration, validation and monitoring

  • Review and analyze data for the improvement and development of NIR calibrations

  • Develop ADM matrix specific NIR calibrations for new product development.

  • Improve existing NIR calibration by analyzing the global data as needed by different business units

  • Centralize and standardize existing NIR calibration based on product type and regions

  • Participate in projects to explore new methods and techniques related to NIR

  • Serve as SME for troubleshooting related to NIR processes and programs

  • Build strong relationship with NIR vendors.

  • Track, trend and adjust the NIR data for optimization and brand safeguard

  • Participate in PAT projects as needed

Job Requirements:

These skills and experiences will be required for the candidate:

  • Subject matter expert in chemometrics and NIR spectroscopy in a food industry or laboratory environment.

  • B.S degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in NIR measurement in food related industry

  • Project management, demonstrating delivery of value to the business through execution of projects

  • Experience in chemometric method development, validation

  • Knowledge of statistics, SPC tools and LIMS

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams
