Job Description:

Sr Manager Trade Compliance - Open to various locations

Position can be based in Decatur or Chicago, IL. Alpharetta, GA or Minneapolis, MN.

Works together with The Regional Managers from the Global Customs and Excise Trade Compliance (CETC) team, supply chain, government relations and logistics organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate processes for imports and exports in the region

  • Act as ADM’s representative to US CBP

  • Managing customs audits, refunds and duty exemption requests

  • Accurate registration of customs relevant data in ERP and other systems used by ADM

  • Advising on tariff classification issues, working with colleagues in other regions

  • Deliver training for colleagues who are not customs specialists

  • Oversight of processes regarding customs brokers

  • Developing internal reporting processes

  • Assist in the evaluation of ADM’s controls

  • Managing team that does day-to-day classification and operational tasks

Required competencies and skills

  • Licensed Customs Broker

  • 10+ years of working experience gained in customs function in industry or mixed with consultancy (big 4 or law office) including managerial positions

  • Up-to-date knowledge of Customs law and export control regulation combined with knowledge to translate Customs rules to operational activities

  • Experienced with SAP/GTS (ideal)

  • Excited to take on a leadership role in a major multinational company that has millions of transactions annually

  • Strategic vision and owner’s mindset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to drive discussions with non-experts

  • Ability to prioritize workload and work under time pressure

  • Curious and enthusiastic contributing to building a positive team spirit

Educational attainment

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject such as economics, supply chain, international law etc.

Minimal work experience

  • 10+ years of working in a customs or trade compliance role in industry or mixed with consultancy (big 4 or law office).

  • 4+ years of managerial experience

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

:

$151,000.00 - $283,000.00

Salaried Incentive Plan:

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus and a long-term incentive plan
