SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Global Director of Engineering oversees product engineering and quality assurance engineering programs by ensuring proper engineering procedures are followed. This position manages the planning, organizing, controlling, integrating and completion of engineering projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads, plans, assigns, coordinates and evaluates the work of engineering function across 3 teams including Global Product Engineering, Denver Manufacturing Engineering, and Denver Quality Engineering.

  • Global Product Engineering: supports the needs of our global sales teams for new product development and sustaining engineering actions to keep our product portfolio competitive now and in the future. Ensures new product development (NPD) follows well-structured engineering phases e.g., voice of customer gathering, ideation, concept validation, testing and production, etc.

  • Denver Manufacturing Engineering: designs and implements production processes and systems to obtain high-quality and cost-competitive products including investments in new manufacturing technologies.

  • Denver Quality Engineering: optimizes product quality ensuring compliance to pre-determined standards as well as manage our quality management system and tools. Ensures that Quality Assurance programs are effective in driving operational excellence and industry quality compliance e.g., IATF 16949, ISO9001.Leads Performance Management of engineering staff and ensures that they plan and meet SMART performance goals and objectives. Conducts timely and constructive performance feedback evaluations.

  • Manages engineering staff development and workforce planning. Provides training and mentoring as needed.

  • Consults with GM/President, Regional GMs, VP of Sales and Director of Operations to determine mid to long term engineering priorities and projects.

  • Oversees progress and timeliness of projects. Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.

  • Champions root cause analysis and corrective action process across the various engineering functions.

  • Leads the review of customer quality requirements and direct Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering Project Plans accordingly (e.g. for engineering drawing specifications design, manufacturing process design and quality assurance design to ensure customer requirements are met.) Performs other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development.

  • Excellent understanding of industry-driven quality programs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.

  • At least ten years of related experience required.

COMPENSATION:

150,000.00 to 195,000.00 annually
