The primary responsibility of the Senior Marketplace Analyst is to aggregate business overviews across the marketplace inclusive of Americas Wholesale and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC). In owning key product categories, this role will be accountable for identifying and escalating business opportunities and risks throughout the channels within the organization; during both Go-to-Market and in-season. Managing strong internal relationships with cross-functional partners will be key to execution against business findings, and working to continually process improve through automation, standardization, and simplification.

You will report into the Senior Manager, Marketplace Analytics and be a key contributor within our Americas team.

Senior Marketplace Analyst (Americas)

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Marketplace Analyst is to develop sell-thru analysis at a category, channel, and key account level, inclusive of Wholesale and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC). This process includes validating data collection and analyzing sales performance to develop conclusions about business trends and opportunities. The cadence of reporting and analytics includes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonally, in addition to ad-hoc needs of the business. Managing strong internal relationships with cross-functional partners will be key to execution against business findings, and working to continually process improve through automation, standardization, and simplification.

You will report into the Senior Manager, Marketplace Analytics and be a key contributor within our Americas team.

  • Analyze category specific sell-thru performance on a weekly basis with a focus on seasonal trends, marketing launches, key items, and inventory risks/opportunities across key accounts and channels.

  • Combine Wholesale and DTC purchase order data with marketplace sell-thru to tell one story.

  • Create channel recaps with business insights and clean trends across the Marketplace.

  • Produce seasonal product reporting for key brand initiatives, marketing stories, etc.

  • Present risks and opportunities to key internal partners to ensure we maximize in-season marketplace inventory, ensuring content is solution-led.

  • Maintain data integrity on a monthly and seasonal basis in collaboration with SPS Commerce and internal data teams.

  • Build dashboards and reporting to support weekly/monthly/quarterly/seasonal deliverables and other key stakeholders, to provide real-time focused views of relevant data in their respective departments.

  • Work within systems to understand flow of information in the brand, limitations, and to help problem solve inconsistencies, missing data, understand differences within each dataset, etc.

  • Present business recaps and sales opportunities to key internal partners, to ensure we maximize in-season marketplace inventory.

  • Provide training and support to other analysts to ensure consistent onboarding and team output.

  • Ad hoc analysis to support business needs and cross-functional team deliverables.

How you will do it:

  • Standardize weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonal recaps across DTC and Wholesale channels.

  • Maintain brand knowledge of seasonal assortments and key account strategies to support sell-thru reporting.

  • Build and manage strong, trusting relationships with cross-functional partners, such as DTC Planning, Wholesale Sales Operations, Category Merchandising, and Finance.

  • Incorporate overall Retail market trends and NPD/external data sources with sell-thru insights.

  • Be a subject matter expert for marketplace analytics and how to use tools including, but not limited to, SPS and Tableau/Power BI.

  • Stay extremely organized on prioritization, deadlines, weekly tracking, and accuracy/completeness of deliverables.

  • Ensure clear, consistent, and relevant analytics are developed and distributed consistently to key stakeholder in the organization.

  • Develop teammates and cross-functional partners with best-in-class reporting and processes.

  • Build trust across the organization through data integrity, reliability, and insights.

  • Independently develop new reporting templates, dashboards, and tools.

  • Staying organized and managing prioritization of deliverables and timelines for completion.

  • Ownness in business by independently engaging partners in identifying and executing sales driving opportunities. Present business opportunities to leadership and diverse audiences to drive brand strategy.

  • Escalate risks and opportunities to Senior Manager, in a timely manner.

Skills for Success

Educational position requirements: A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

What we expect you already know:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in Retail analytics, buying, or planning.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Tableau and/or Power BI preferred.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Validation of sales data and data attribution alignment across systems.

  • Understanding of Retail processes including sell-thru, inventory flow, margin/profitability, and markdowns.

  • Comfort level working with large data sets across multiple sources. Experience cleansing and merging data preferred.

  • Attention to detail and critical thinking of work completed (e.g., “does this look right”). Ability to self-serve and provide the “so what” behind analysis compiled.

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Hiring Range :

$81,216.00 USD - $101,520.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
