The Group Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting new accounts as well as entertaining and sustaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. He/she must have a strong knowledge of sales and understand the importance of prospecting in creating new sales opportunities for the hotel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop accounts (new and existing); maintain an organized and professional plan for correspondence and follow-up.

  • Perform solicitations to new and existing accounts/customers.

  • Responds in a timely manner to all leads, RFPs, phone calls, and emails.

  • Procures new and repeat business.

  • Conduct tours of the property to meeting planners and other potential clients; entertain customers on property, during site inspections, pre-planning trips, and program operation when appropriate.

  • Coordinate all sales-related activity through the direction of the (Associate) Director of Sales & Events: negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while satisfying customer needs.

  • Conduct all sales-related interactions with the highest level of professionalism.

  • Assist with all guest inquiries within the sales department, including assisting in answering phone calls and attending to walk-in site inspections.

  • Participate in sales blitz and telephone blitz activity.

  • Meets with groups on the property to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • A positive, team-oriented, and service focused character

  • Effective direct verbal communication with clients

  • Produce precisely written meeting proposals, correspondence, and contractual agreements

  • Proactive client assistance and internal communication with colleagues

  • Ability to accurately and effectively execute responsibilities within a fast-paced environment consistently

  • Maintain a high level of responsibility and attention to detail with an ability to adapt to a changing environment

  • Preferably 1-3 years experience in a Sales Manager role within hospitality or similar experience/degree

Qualifications:

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred

  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge

  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training

  • Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
