Weyerhaeuser Dodson Lumber has an opening for a Shipping Coordinator with a clear commitment to safety, strong leadership values and outstanding core values. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that reports to the Dry Side Superintendent.

As the Shipping Lead, you are a role model for our safety standards and effortlessly demonstrate your sound characteristics of integrity, honest and caring leadership. Reporting to the Dry End Superintendent, you are responsible for communicating customer requirements to the planer mill department; developing and leading team meetings and trainings; identifying safety, quality and productivity issues; coordinating shipping activities and taking measures to proactively address concerns. Additionally, as the Shipping Coordinator you lead the team by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

Key Functions As Shipping Lead, you will:

• Plan, develop, manage, and provide effective leadership for the Shipping team
• Raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set
• Ensure the safety of all associates and outside vendors by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with maintenance to ensure all equipment is in good running order to assure consistent shipping of lumber
• Build strong relationships with sales team, transportation team and customers, showcasing your ability to coordinate, communicate and resolve issues
• Accurately record and analyze daily shipping reports for quality and optimization and ensure inventory control of finished lumber

• Proactively resolve employee issues, build teamwork, and ensure adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Work through the Dry Side Superintendent to address employee performance.

• High School Diploma/GED required

• Demonstrated commitment to safe work behaviors and experience leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills
• Proven track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills and a positive influence
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, & other software programs
• Working knowledge of business and financial concepts
• Build strong working relationship across department lines
• Flexible with schedule and able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed

The following qualifications are preferred:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field an asset
