Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. is recruiting for an Head of HR Talent Management & Capability Development. This position will ideally be located in New Brunswick, NJ but there is flexibility for an individual to be remote as long as they are within two hours of a major international airport.

The Head of HR Talent Management & Capability Development is responsible for designing, supporting and implementing talent strategies for building leadership & HR capabilities and developing the pipeline of current and future leaders in Johnson & Johnson's HR Organization. This role reports directly to the Head of HR Strategy, Planning & Operations

Key Areas of Focus

Primarily, the individual in this role will have accountability for:

  • Diagnosing talent management needs and designing solutions aligned to the enterprise HR and GTM strategy to develop a diverse and robust pipeline

  • Translating organization capability and talent strategies into prioritized action plans

  • Implementing talent management programs and processes that address the needs of the identified critical roles and their feeder positions.

  • Designing innovative approaches to assess and build leadership & HR capability

  • Leading capability and talent strategy, processes and initiatives Regional HR Leadership Teams, ensure focusing on cross-region, cross-tier and cross functional talent movement outcomes (including org and workforce strategy development, communication of talent review processes and facilitation of succession planning sessions, prioritizing and managing talent projects, and other senior talent strategy work).

  • Leveraging existing leadership accelerated development processes to meet the HR organization’s need for leadership development at the early in career and mid- career levels of the organization, including HRLDP

  • Facilitating the identification and tracking of candidates for emerging leader acceleration development processes such as IDP, TAP, etc.

  • Consulting with HR leaders to develop impactful development plans and drive critical development action to ensure development commitment follow-through for specific individuals.

  • Partnering with Diversity & Inclusion colleagues to develop talent strategies

  • Identifying and develop strong talent sourcing networks for priority roles, including industry, universities, and professional bodies.

  • Identifying and maintain critical KPI metrics to proactively identify success of programs and approaches to ensure focused outcomes are achieved; reporting quarterly


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required

  • An Advanced Degree preferred

  • A minimum of 10 years of total business experience with at least 6 years of relevant Human Resources experience is required

  • Successful experience in creating and implementing Organization & Talent strategies and building organization capability in complex, multi-functional business environments is required

  • Developing, mentoring and guiding HR resources to demonstrate a strong business mindset, strategic talent focus and proactive results-orientation required

  • Experience in leadership assessment and development is required

  • Experience in Succession Planning and Performance & Development is required

  • Global experience is preferred

  • Experience working with data, analytics and generating insights is required

  • Must be able to partner effectively and influence at all levels in a globally matrixed environment including: BBHR and global HR community, on decisions related to talent initiatives as well as global talent selections and movement

  • Strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration, transparency and high performance

  • Up to 20% travel may be required to ensure in-depth understanding of local talent requirements and talent pools, and alignment with global HR community. Travel may be higher if the candidate is not sitting in New Brunswick, NJ
