The Industrial and Circuit Solutions (ICS) business unit includes well known industry leading brands such as, Pyralux® flexible circuit materials, Kapton® polyimide films and Riston® dry film photoresist.
We are hiring an Application/Product Development Engineer to join our Durham, NC team.
Your Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the position is focused on supporting rapid testing, prototyping efforts of new products or application for the growing Industrial and Circuit Solutions Laminates business.
Works closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, and marketing by providing voice of customer relative to product performance and expectations of product attributes.
Performs technical, scientific, or information assignments. Plans project approaches and routinely formulates work plans. May be responsible for setting and defining technical objectives and assessing results. May also have team leader responsibilities.
Participates on the product development teams as a prototype engineer. This will include planning, executing, and analyzing of product performance and reliability.
Key success factors in this role are the ability to identify needs, develop solutions, to allow ICS to deliver and capture value. This requires the successful candidate to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and processes as well as the DuPont product and service offerings, especially Pyralux® flexible laminate products and materials.
The role is highly consultative and the ability to combine technical knowledge/ resources to define and meet objectives that benefit customers and DuPont is critical.
This position can be visible and requires a highly motivated individual. The successful candidate will conduct all aspects of the technology processes within NA consisting of customers located primarily in US and EU but might include global opportunities-learning.
Supports ICS by strengthening relationships with customers covering existing accounts as well as establishing relationships with new customers and OEMs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering, materials science,
Electronics industry background/experience preferred.
Experience in circuit board fabrication testing/design, aerospace high performance cable testing/design or manufacture and or use of Flexible Printed Circuits with knowledge of high speed or high frequency applications is an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Able to demonstrate a high level of learning agility with the ability to adapt and learn new materials, applications, and processes.
Demonstrated laboratory and hands on experiences.
Ability to use own initiative, effective time management skills and result orientated.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Ability and willingness to carry out business travel 10-20% or as needed.
