JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates the building permit process and permanent house file records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Permit Procurement - Prepare any and all applications to obtain all regulatory permits/licenses and pay fees. Order and monitor receipt of engineering reports/designs and assemble the permit application package for applicable counties/cities/municipal entities, including plot plans, soils, architecture, foundation and truss design and engineering. Submit permit application packages to municipalities and monitor receipt of permits, approvals, certificates, etc.

Starts Package Preparation - Prepare and deliver Starts Packages (Construction Order, Lot Options Order(s) and mini-floor plans, soils report, plot plan/survey, foundation and truss designs, building permit and municipality-specific documents) to on-site Construction Superintendents.

Maintain Starts Calendar and Delivery Plan Slotting Tools - Attend Starts/Deliveries Plan Review meetings. Monitor the flow of each buyer through permitting, loan approval and house start processes ensuring the Division goals are met for Authorizations, Starts and Closings based on the Business Plan. Identify potential roadblocks if goals are in jeopardy and report to the Division Management. Provide daily updates on the progress of each goal for the Division.

House File Audit and Archival - Combine and audit for completeness all permit related paperwork that is required per the divisions audit guidelines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • College degree preferred.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Regulatory compliance knowledge, skills and abilities required.

  • Residential construction regulatory experience very beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Spanish language proficiency very helpful.

  • Ability to connect with people, and develop and maintain professional relationships

  • Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple processes. Action-oriented.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Strong experience in delivering high quality customer service programs. JD Edwards experience a plus!

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including motivating teams, employee development, and being results oriented

  • Proven ability of being customer centric by seeking solutions from the customer's perspective

  • Proven ability to lead and execute effective training sessions or conduct strong oral presentations

  • Strong ability to work within a team-setting, inclusive of other's ideas, and a willingness to cooperate

  • Makes quick and accurate decisions based heavily on facts, data and/or metrics

Work Requirements

  • Work 8-hour days with flexibility for additional work hours when necessary

  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner with city and county governments and agencies, municipal districts, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the Division.
