Job Summary

The Senior Engineering Technologist position is the fourth level of the non-Engineer degree technical support role. The Senior Engineering Technologist provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Employees in the Senior Engineering Technologist position are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently with increased latitude for unreviewed work.

Responsibilities

• Provides subject matter technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise.

• Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities,

• Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches,

• Conducts engineering and related studies,

• Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance,

• Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities,

• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills,

• Maintains accurate records and files,

• Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally, and

• Coaches and mentors other Engineering Technologists

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Technology

• In addition to required degree, 6 years related work experience

• In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 6 year(s) related work experience listed above, Associates AND 8 year(s) related work experience

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelors degree

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Experience in the utility industry.

• Proficient in applying principles of project management.
