Job Description:

At Caterpillar’s Denison, TX facility, we manufacture Surface Rock Drills for mining applications. In this role as an Engineering Project Team Leader, you will report to the Engineering Manager and will be primarily responsible for supporting the Engine Installation, Cooling and Compressor systems on LTTT, HMS, and SRD. You will work with product teams in Peoria, Tucson, Denison, and India to solve technical issues and lead new product development. As a member of the Tracked Products Engineering team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can’t wait for you to join the team!

What you will do:

  • Set strategy at the project level. The project would solve problems for a single technology, component, product, or process.

  • Draw upon foundational product development skills such as conceptual design, development of product and/or process, data analysis & extraction, failure resolution & prevention, and requirements management is required; as well as, ever increasing skill in technical project management, development of product, internal and external requirements management, and cost-value management.

  • Manage self-development, continuously learning through experience, an understanding the customers’ needs and application of the product or process, as well as keeping up with technology.

  • Accountable for pulling together a team of individuals, who may or may not have worked together before, to solve a technical problem or create critical component(s) and systems or process.

  • Pull input from the whole team to formulate decisions and develop the output for the job/project.

  • Plan and manage the job/project

  • Manage the business/financial aspects of the job or project

  • Provide a supportive work environment for the team

  • Mentor, coach, and develop others

  • Work within the team and beyond the team with contractors, hourly, salaried and management employees, suppliers, customers and individuals working in many Caterpillar organizations.

What you will have:

  • Bachelor degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum

  • 10+ years of engineering experience related to: Engine installation, cooling systems or components, and machine design

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Project leadership experience

  • Interpersonal, leadership, and strong communication skills

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Denison, TX

Domestic relocation assistance is available

This position may require 10% travel
