If you like being on the forefront of product development and improvement, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at the Peoria Proving Ground (PPG) as a Lean Project Leader – Product Development ! Caterpillar enjoys the strongest reputation in the industry, and, in this critical role, you will help to continue this tradition by leveraging your unique background in leading and supporting continuous improvement to advance Lean efforts and facilitate change management across our product development facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Working directly with PPG Managers to build the Lean culture, strengthen existing Lean processes and establish new ones.

  • Preparing machine development sites needed to support autonomy, automation, connectivity, and electrification within the facility including facility infrastructure to support machine development

  • Ownership of Lean processes and tools (Built In Quality, Continuous Improvement, Test Efficiency, Metrics Board)

  • Leading capital projects for PPG

  • Contributing to Earthmoving Division Lean improvement activities

  • Supporting PPG’s ISO 17025 Quality System

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Influencing: Strong influencing skills, capable of driving change and garnering support from stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Thorough understanding of product development and/or manufacturing processes, enabling effective influence for complex projects.

  • Managing Multiple Projects: Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadline and deliver results. Ability to juggle various projects with competing priorities, maintaining focus, and driving progress across all initiatives.

  • Decision Making and Problem Solving: Exceptional decision-making abilities and critical thinking skills, enabling sound judgement in complex scenarios and dynamic business environments. Experience developing process documentation.

  • Change Management: Experience leading change in a work group or similar organization.

Top Candidates Will Have :

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering or Business

  • Experience working in a shop environment

  • Cross-functional knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Manufacturing / Operations

  • Engineering

  • Quality
