OptumRx is seeking a dynamic Chief Commercial Client Officer to lead and oversee the company’s commercial revenue growth strategy and play a critical role in developing our product and go-to-market strategies. This individual will be responsible for our business development strategy, sales effectiveness, and the coordination of all sales and business development activities across the commercial Rx business.

Develop strategy, process and best practices to maintain and grow revenue at desired growth rate (grow 2-3x times faster than industry)
Uncover new pathways to growth, through untapped markets or expanding and scaling existing capabilities
Build market positioning strategy based on competitive intelligence and game plan to effectively compete and win in the market
Manage growth through a portfolio approach of customer segments, balancing deal size and profitability
Differentiate and win deals based on affordability, experience and performance
Develop and maintain all business development and analysis functions, optimizing the sales process through ongoing review and analysis of pipeline opportunities and outcomes
Increase sales through commercial employers, health plans, partnerships, joint ventures and coalitions
Advocate for consumer and client needs to ensure strong client retention (98% or higher). Build culture of NPS within the Sales team
Drive fast paced growth and change within the organization to achieve results while living our UHG Values
Lead with data, and driven by results with an emphasis on building relationships within the industry
Work with VP of Marketing to develop marketing strategy and goals. Help OptumRx realize business growth through strategic planning and marketing execution
As a strategic member of the leadership team, identify emerging issues in events or processes that impact company goals and develops strategies to resolve them, collaborating with other organizational areas as needed
Build and develop teams that can scale while delivering excellence; hire and develop members of the team and continue to mentor and grow the team from within
Demonstrate strong leadership skills and abilities, and develop those qualities in their management team through candidate selection, effective onboarding and training, goal setting and mentorship, as well as the ability to make course corrections when needed to get an individual or team back on track

10+ years of progressively responsible management experience in healthcare environment, most recently at the senior executive level
Strong lean toward outside-in, client and market focused perspective
Disruptive thinker, willing to challenge conventional and siloed thinking, drive change and offer a different viewpoint
Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a highly complex, matrix environment with a high level of collaboration
Demonstrated experience in growth, market and product development, client account management and/or consulting
Proven experience and expertise in healthcare, insurance or related industry (ex. consulting, wellness, pharmacy, etc. preferred)
Prior experience building and managing strategic client relationships and sales (of specific solution set / product) in / to the market (ex. Payer, Provider, Employer, Life Sciences, Government, International, etc.)
Proven track record for achieving target revenue and / or sales goals
Demonstrated success in accessing and influencing senior level and / or C - Suite clients, sophisticated customers, channels, consultants, and / or business partners in a highly matrixed organization
Deep understanding of sales process and ability to navigate and manage complex sales, solutioning and RFP process to facilitate and remove roadblocks (for sales / client executives) to close sales
Ability to drive effective pipeline and sales process discipline
Demonstrated leadership through ambiguity and change
Location is open; ability to travel up to 100%
