UnitedHealth Group Commercial Financial Analyst - Telecommute in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

The Commercial Finance Analyst is responsible for working with the Commercial Finance team to own the Behavioral relationship with UnitedHealthcare and oversee 400+ Commercial National Accounts ASO clients, both for basic Behavioral products, as well as specialty services. The Commercial Finance Analyst will also assist in managing the P&L by working with our internal Finance and Product teams to monitor revenue and expenses. As you become familiar with the organization, you will have exposure to the Fully Insured book of business to expand your knowledge of how broadly Optum Behavioral Health services its clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary subject matter expert on UHC National Accounts (UHCNA) ASO clients from a Behavioral service perspective

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in conjunction with budgeting and forecasting process for UHCNA ASO Behavioral customers

  • Execute timely & accurate data sourcing, validation, analytics, and reporting

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reports for UHCNA ASO that clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget

  • Cross-train on UHC E&I FI business relationship with OptumHealth and understand UHC legal entity structure

  • Partner with Product team to create and maintain inter-segment pricing sheets, with clearly outlined terms and approvals and ensure yearly renewals to meet compliance guidelines in the iTrac database

  • Build relationship with UHC Accounting to update monthly close files and respond to questions from UHC Regulatory

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent degree

  • 2+ years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience

  • Knowledge of fundamental financial concepts and procedures

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft Financials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • UHG Experience; knowledge of IIPAS and iTrac

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Excellent communication, time/project management, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Assertive, self-starting personality with a customer service attitude

  • Performs work in a self – directed manner and works well with less structured, more complex issues

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
