UnitedHealth Group Sr. Actuarial Analyst - Telecommute in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

PrimaryResponsibilities:

  • Work closely with our teams tomaintain, update, and continually improve the pharmacy and medical model

  • Lead actuarial analysts in Medicare pharmacypricing studies to support and enhance the pricing of pharmacy EGWP

  • Partner with medical actuaries inMedicare Advantage pricing studies

  • Review emerging plan experience tokeep improving pricing accuracy

  • Work in a cross-functional teamforming partnerships with the Individual Medicare Pharmacy Pricing Team,Trend Team, and Finance to ensure consistency with emerging trends andstrategic planning

  • Assist Underwriting with non-standardrequests, ad hoc pricing questions, and review of model outputs

  • Communicate pricing results to seniormanagement and provide guidance on achieving financial targets

  • Work closely with the actuary leadingRate filings to ensure rating methodology in rate filings is consistentwith the rating model, eventually lead Rate filings for pharmacy andSenior Supp

  • Lead underwriting of a block ofbusiness of $180+ million representing smaller groups

  • Implement product changes andenhancements in our Rating tools

  • Build strong relationships acrossteams that will serve to strengthen our product for our members and yournetwork for future career development

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalentwork experience

  • ASA (Associate of the Societyof Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation

  • Basic proficiency with SAS(Statistical Analysis System)

  • 4+ years of professional Actuarial experience

  • Intermediate proficiency withMS Excel

  • Intermediate proficiency withSQL

  • 3+ years working in thehealthcare industry

  • 3+ years Medicare experience

  • 2+ years Project Management experiencewith cross division teams

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Management experience

  • Basic level of proficiency withVBA
