The Sr. Clinical Program Consultant role will be responsible for the management and profitable growth for Optum Infusion. This person will be an experienced strategy and business development leader with a track record of thought leadership, scaled growth execution and external partnership management. An ideal leader will bring a background of product discipline, client management, and strategy.

The immediate focus of the position will be on managing existing provider / health system partnerships (e.g., Allergy Partners) as well as defining a forward-facing strategy for how Optum Infusion can increase access to infusion services in community-based physician offices via joint ventures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support existing provider / health system partnerships (e.g., Allergy Partners) by serving as the primary point of contact, evaluating opportunities for how we improve and better align a partnership to each organizations objective

  • Cultivate a long-term customer-centric relationship founded on understanding the customers needs, expectations and producing results

  • Develop a position on how to advance the growth and scale of the pharmacy. This may be through both Payor contracts and the flow of new referrals

  • Oversee operational service levels and identify where there are opportunities to improve

  • Establish a simplified reimbursement model with aligned incentives

  • Determine how to maximize purchasing rates

  • Foster innovation, anticipate emerging needs and develop solutions to meet them

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (operations, sales, clinical, etc.) to optimize the business model, align on priorities, and achieve objectives

  • Establish new joint venture business models tailored to physician practices seeking to offer outpatient infusion therapy to their core service offering

  • Identify, scope and size new venture opportunities

  • Analyze competitors and the market landscape

  • Collaborate with sales to mobilize targeting and execution

  • Assemble and lead cross-functional teams to design pilots, operationalize offerings, optimize features, and monitor progress

  • Take charge as an owner and represent projects in front of senior leadership

  • Manage budget and resources effectively to drive value

  • Explore an M&A agenda (as appropriate)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 6+ years of work experience in the health care industries

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, client management or product development

  • Experience in developing growth strategies for organization(s), particularly around new business lines

  • Experience working in a team environment, as well as independently and autonomously

  • Experience working with clients in a consultative role - comfort engaging senior level people in back-and-forth conversation, ability to be convincing when necessary, and ability to develop strong relationships through each interaction

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to plan the work and lead the execution against the plan

  • Solid negotiation, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills. Accurately scopes out projects, sets objectives and goals, develops schedules and resource assignments, measures performance against goals, and evaluates results

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
