Position Overview:
As part of the talented Brunswick team, you will be responsible for supporting the build and testing of New Products, Continuous Improvement, Special projects.

Essential Functions:
Assembly and testing of new products
Communicate with the engineering department and project managers on prototype issues
Must have the ability to read blueprints, provide necessary redlines and insure BOM accuracy
Knowledge, skills and hands on ability in a wide variety of assembly related installations to include, electrical, mechanical and interior cabinetry components.
Perform incoming inspections on electrical components, panels, and harnesses as needed.
Required to build or rework prototype and production harnesses as needed
Install, test, and troubleshoot AC/DC components. Which include appliances, battery chargers, inverters, etc.
Install, test and troubleshoot control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
Tests and troubleshoots electrical circuits or systems to ensure proper operation.
Utilize testing instruments such as a digital multimeter and hull potential meter.
Verifies functioning of installed electrical equipment or system to detect hazards and the need for adjustment, relocation, or placement.
Experience in rigging and installing outboard and stern drive engines, programming, calibration and troubleshooting
Assist in the training of production personnel to insure a smooth transition of a product from the prototype stage to production
Support the development and building of necessary tools, and fixtures to support manufacturing assembly and FRP
Testing of prototype boats, documenting findings, providing recommendations from findings
Must interface well with other employees, departments throughout Brunswick Boat Group, outside vendors, dealers, and retail customers
May include handling and application of solvents, paints, pastes, putty and wax, along with proper disposal
Ability to work independently at offsite locations and solve problems that may arise
Self-starter, high energy individual who can work effectively without supervision
Must be committed to quality standards acceptable by Brunswick Boat Group and customer base
Ability to work with fellow coworkers in close proximity and in a team, environment displaying mutual respect
Ensure work area is maintained clean, orderly and safe
Know and enforce company policies and procedures
Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast-paced noisy environment
Must be willing to work overtime as required to assure timely completion of critical projects
Must be willing to travel if necessary
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of boat manufacturing methods and procedures
Additional technical training in Electrical / Mechanical fields preferred
NMMA, ABYC compliance certification training, Marine technical training preferred
US Coast Guard safe boating course preferred
Boat handling experience preferred
Minimum of 5 years Marine Industry boat building experience required
Minimum of 5 years troubleshooting and repairing assembly and electrical problems is required.
Understanding of AC and DC circuits is required.
Experience with PC based software (word, excel, data acquisition, OBMS)
Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making abilities
Boating and mechanical background to properly execute duties
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. he duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $42,200 - $66,300 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
