The F-35 Integrated Test Force at Edwards AFB, CA is seeking a Utilities and Subsystems Engineer to support current mission planning tasking, and to expand the U&S capabilities for F-35 Developmental Test. The selected candidate must be technically competent in fifth generation subsystems, and they also must be able and willing to mentor teammates in those areas. The preferred candidate will be either a Vehicle System (VS), Mission Systems (MS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) or be an emerging authority who has the skill set to accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of APG/Vehicle Systems or AVS/Mission Systems.

The U&S engineer will:

• Manage control room currency for team

• Perform post-mission data analysis

• Ensure technical adequacy of the team's work and provide feedback to teammates regularly

• Leading complex troubleshooting Vehicle Systems anomalies

• Review and update documentation and instructions to facilitate fielding of vehicle systems components

• Ensure all test missions and mx events are appropriately staffed by U&S personnel

• Contribute technically to engineering efforts (projects, tiger teams, etc.) as assigned by leadership

A level 4 employee Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience

Basic Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience working with fighter aircraft systems and avionics

• Fault isolation and problem analysis experience at the sub-system level

• Experience with drawing/schematics reading and interpretation

• Small team leadership experience in a flightline environment

• Understanding of military/aircraft maintenance procedures

• B.S. STEM field from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience in aviation or sustainment

Desired Skills:

• Current or previous control room qualification

• Knowledge of F-35 PHM data analysis tools

• Knowledge of Air Force Flight Test Center (AFTC) practices and procedures

• Current F-35 program clearances

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
