UnitedHealth Group Behavioral Health Coordinator in El Paso, Texas

You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am-7:00pm (depending on the time zone of the market you serve), no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Makes outbound calls to members who are diagnosed with Behavioral Health needs and provides coverage to an inbound memberphone queue

  • Performs assessments via phone

  • Provides behavioral health benefit education

  • Assists enrollees with understanding and locating community support services and outpatient behavioral health resources

  • Escalates cases to clinical team partners

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher) OR 1+ years of experience in a behavioral health setting (i.e., hospital, managed care organization, or joint behavioral outpatient practice)

  • 6+ months of experience in a behavioral health setting (i.e., hospital, managed care organization, or joint behavioral outpatient practice)

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook), including internet searches and MS Office applications

  • 6+ months of experience / knowledge of behavioral health resources and services

  • 6+ months of dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse

  • 6+ months of experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients

  • Bi-lingual (English /Spanish)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field

  • Type 30-40+ wpm accurately

  • Experience working with low-income populations

  • Experience working with the aged, blind, or disabled

  • 6+ months managed care experience

  • 6+ months of casework experience at hospitals, social service agencies or community mental health centers

Soft Skills:

  • Must demonstrate flexibility, ability to follow through on all tasks in a timely fashion, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills and scheduling skills as observed in day-to-day work

  • Experience handling sensitive issues with members and providers in a confidential manner

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong team player and team building skills

  • Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to use community and network resources to meet members' needs

  • Demonstrates initiative in achieving individual, team, and organizational goals and objectives

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $16.00 to $26.88. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $16.83 to $29.66.
