The Juarez Plant Controller / Value Stream Finance Manager will provide direct leadership to the Salvarcar & Horizontes manufacturing sites and BWI Therapeutic & Diagnostic value streams, reporting into the BWI Juarez Campus Senior Finance Manager. This role will partner with the respective site Director, Value Stream Director, site Leadership Team members, finance direct reports, and the regional and global CSS SC / finance organizations to achieve short-term financial performance commitments and evaluate strategic long-term opportunities for the site.

The Finance Manager will own site Business Planning & Actual Results and the periodic Forecast Update processes with business partners ensuring the reliability of the financial information and its timely submission / dissemination to all relevant stakeholders. He / she will lead total the cost estimation of new product introductions as well as review and approve annual & interim changes in standard costs in collaboration with the Principal Inventory & Costing COE. He / she will partner with the PIC and Global Services COEs to provide insights on budget vs actual drivers, operational metrics, and frame results including the clear communication of risks and opportunities.

The Finance Manager will also collaborate with the Global Services teams, Supply Chain Finance Centers of Excellence, and other centralized organizations on the timely, complete, and accurate compliance with J&J standards, statutory requirements, and SOX controls. He / she will have direct responsibility to ensure all operations made in Juarez are compliant with local payroll, legal, tax and accounting rules as well as with the J&J policies. He / she will provide necessary support to internal or external financial audits of the site. He / she will be the point of contact and ensure site level execution for physical inventory requirements. The Finance Manager will advise management on the P&L, Balance Sheet, cashflow and compliance implications of operating decisions, assist with compensation & site incentive change analytics and the related works council / union consultations and pursue opportunities to maximize applicable tax credits / R&D research grants.

Together with the BWI Juarez Campus Supply Chain Senior Finance Manager, Value Stream Directors, Product Management and Strategy & Deployment teams, he / she will propose / evaluate business cases (Capital, Investments, Site Master Plan) and provide inputs to the Strategic Plan / Long Range Financial Plan process to enable decision making with a focus on value creation. In collaboration with the site Leadership Team, the Finance Manager will play a key role in identifying, estimating / validating, tracking, and reporting on key investments and the related cost improvement savings. When required, the Finance Manager will support technology / product transfers between the sites, integration of acquisitions, and ad hoc analytics related to Life Cycle Management and supply reliability.

This role will identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial analytics & capabilities within the finance team and business partner support as well as support any S&OP Planning, Global Services and Centers of Excellence led process improvement and standardization initiatives including support to finance technology changes.

He / she will take ownership for the performance and development of the Finance team at the site. As required, he / she will represent MAKE in local Finance & non-Finance councils.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, Forecasting & Standard Cost Setting Coordination: challenge priorities & assumptions with business partners, build financial models, review financial outputs with management, and influence senior leadership decision making

  • Performance Analytics and Reporting: Review and communicate performance drivers, metrics, risks, and opportunities; formulate and drive associated action plans

  • Strategy and Value Stream Decision Support: Facilitate gross profit & network strategy by providing financial support to business cases for investment / life cycle management decisions, address supply reliability challenges, validate new product introductions / cost savings opportunities as well as driving delivery of financial P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow targets

  • Leadership & Development: Serve as a People Manager shaping organizational design, leading recruiting, onboarding / training of new team members as well as driving staff development & succession planning

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion efficiencies for financial systems, processes / analytics and support other Enterprise / Franchise ad hoc analyses / projects

  • Audit and Compliance: oversite of internal controls for both SOX and local statutory requirements, support internal/external audits

Qualifications

  • Minimu of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master of Accounting or CPA is desired

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional expreience is required

  • In depth, knowledge of financial information systems is required

  • Ability to use PC and associated software required

  • You must have knowledge of computerized accounting systems and applications, including MRP.

  • Adequate knowledge of standard costs and project accounting is required

  • Must be able to communicate well in oral and written English

  • This position will be located in El Paso, TX and may require up to 10% travel
