Weyerhaeuser Company in Emerson, AR is hiring for a Heavy Equipment Operator. We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, motivated to work, and works as a team member. This position is an entry level role into our Green End Department and operates on a 12-hour schedule including both days and nights.

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating 950, 966, and JCB Heavy Equipment safely. The Heavy Equipment Operator is also responsible for pre-forming pre-use inspections, properly fuel and lubricate machines, and properly load and unload vats and load the infeed of the lathe.

Key Functions:

• Commitment to working safe and following all safety rules and regulations.
• Able to interpret work instructions and complete tasks as delegated.
• Actively participate in the team-based work environment with a positive attitude, good communication skills, and respectable work ethic.
• Perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks including, but not limited to equipment inspection and preventative maintenance, and equipment repairs.

Heavy Equipment Operator are responsible for the following:

• Ensuring blocks have proper water flow over them when a door is closed.
• Ensuring that ditches are clear, and water is flowing and following the vat loading/unloading JSA to clean the vat floor and ditch whenever a door is emptied.
• Ensuring that the lathe infeed is stocked with product.
• Ensuring that any issues are communicated with the Shift Supervisor.
• Responsible for ensuring water chest doors are fully stocked with an adequate amount of blocks.

• Responsible for making sure that their work area is clean and free of blocks and debris, as well as maintaining environmental standards in their area.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Resume detailing education and work history is required for consideration.
• A minimum of 1 year experience driving heavy equipment (950, 966 sized equipment)
• Able to work safely around moving manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Able to work overtime, holidays, as well as night shift and some weekends.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures, dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety protective equipment.
• Able to perform labor intensive work and essential job functions of the position, which may include climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 lbs. and bending, work from heights, and stand or walk for 2-3 hours at a time for 12 hours.
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Able to complete forklift training.
• Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to work closely with supervisors, and all others in the department, be a team player/leader, good verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate positive attitude.
• Must have good performance, safety, and attendance records.
• Must demonstrate good communication skills.
• Must have ability to identify, communicate potential problems, and work to solve them.
• Prior boiler operation experience preferred.
