Are you an Electrical or a Mechanical Engineer with 6 to 20 years of experience within Power Electronics Packaging and looking for the next step to grow your career? The Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) and Power and Propulsion Solution (PPS) business areas area experiencing unprecedented growth. Engineers will develop flight and mission-critical products for more than 170 commercial and military customers. You will have the opportunity to help design and develop the next generation: Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls, Aircraft Engine Controls, Ground Vehicle Power Management Systems, Aircraft Electrification Systems, Advanced Air Mobility Systems, Autonomous Flight Systems, Flight Deck Systems, Cabin Management Systems, Weapon Control Systems, and Mission Systems for the world's most prominent commercial and military aircraft and vehicle manufacturers.
Candidates for this position can expect to work in mid-size teams that are cooperative, dependable, and supportive, working both co-located in a hybrid environment and geographically distributed.

These roles involve a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will take the form of a hybrid work schedule, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Duties and responsibilities include the following: Detailed design, analysis and testing of:
Architectures and circuit design for MOSFET, Si IGBT and SiC/GAN devices
Isolated and Non-Isolated High Power DC/DC converters (greater than 1kW)
High Power AC inverters (greater than 1kW)
System level DC link interactions
Experience with power magnetics design, machine control and EMI control.
Filters for importable and exportable sine wave power for grid tie and other applications
Control strategies for power conversion
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
6 to 20 years of experience in power electronics related design and development, including familiarity with motor drives, gate drivers, analog circuitry, and magnetics
Hands-on experience with the understanding of full product development lifecycle of electronics hardware and design, component and system-level integration, validation, and verification.
Ability to work with software and firmware controllers for converters and power distribution systems.
Experience with rotating machine control and design for EMC/ EMI compliance.
Pre-existing knowledge of magnetic design for high frequency applications and soft switching techniques.
Experience with AC-DC converters and power factor correction.
Experience with DC-DC topologies and ability to select optimal architectures and components
Experience with digital control strategies for AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion
Must have experience working safely in a high voltage / high power lab environment.
Discrete understanding of the entirety of the electrification ecosystem
Experience in full lifecycle development including component level requirements and design, component and system-level integration, validation, and verification.
Ability to work with software and firmware-controlled power converters and power systems. Must be willing to work in a high voltage / high power lab environment.
Software skills: SPICE, Mathcad
Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs and projects.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of BAE.
Capable of creating required documentation, requirements, test plans and engineering
Highly organized team player with excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal).
Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiarity with military and/or commercial standards
Experience in modeling, simulation, and testing of power electronics: SPICE/ LTSPICE, Mathcad, Matlab/Simulink, Ansys Electronic desktops.
Proven ability to effectively lead a small team in the solution of open-ended problems.
Proven ability to coach and teach others in the organization.
Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership and mentoring.
Ability to develop strategic roadmaps for both technology and business
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
