BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer to support programs in the value streams within the PPS Business Area. The Quality Engineer will support the manufacturing floor with quality issues, react to key program metrics, participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, drive corrective actions, and foster continuous improvements.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Protect PPS from shipping nonconforming material

  • Facilitate RCCA with Corrective and Preventative Actions

  • Hardware Dispositions

  • Operator Feedback

  • FAI (First Article Inspection)

  • Inspections

  • Part issue investigation/ Coordination with SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering)

  • Data Trending

  • Action tracking and closure

  • Audit support

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High School Diploma and 6 years of related work experience or equivalent experience

  • A passion for process improvement

  • Well-organized

  • Strong communicator capable of working through complex issues with peers, management and multiple functions

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Ability to mine data and visually display

  • Technical mindset

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • AS degree with 4 years of work experience or,

  • BS in Engineering or similar technical degree with 2 years of work experience

  • Experience with electronics manufacturing

  • Experience with the control and dispositioning of non-conforming material

  • Experience with root cause corrective action investigations

  • Experience with metric trending

  • Experience with Oracle systems, FLX factory Logix, PowerBi and/or Apex is a plus

  • Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $68700 - $116800

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
