In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management.

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to work in the Controls Avionics Solutions Business in Endicott, NY to support our Aircraft Electrification program/s. We supply electronic solutions to US and Foreign military customers. The Senior Quality Engineer supports programs in the value streams within the CAS Business Area. The Senior Quality Engineer will support the manufacturing floor with quality issues, react to key program metrics, participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, drive corrective actions, and foster continuous improvements.

As a Senior Quality Engineer supporting our Aircraft Electrification program/s you will make impacts in the following ways :

  • Protect Controls and Avionics department from shipping nonconforming material.

  • Participate in RCCA with Corrective and Preventative Actions.

  • Perform hardware dispositions.

  • Provider Operator Feedback on the manufacturing floor.

  • Complete quality inspections.

  • Part issue investigation/ Coordination with SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering).

  • Perform Data Trending.

  • Action tracking and closure.

  • Audit support.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Technical Degree, a BS degree in related field and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience.

  • Have knowledge of AS9100D Quality System and pertinent Quality practices.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal) and be able to effectively communicate and interact with Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders.

  • An understanding of Statistics and practical application to a manufacturing environment.

  • Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.

  • A passion for process improvement.

  • Manufacturing experience.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Mechanical background with an understanding of electrical components and Circuit Card Assemblies.

  • Experience with Oracle systems, FLX factory Logix, PowerBi and/or Apex is a plus.

  • Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material.

  • Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements.

  • Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81500 - $138600

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
