We are seeking a passionate and driven Food Science Product Development Intern to join our team for a dynamic internship opportunity. The successful candidate will assist our product development team in creating innovative and market-ready food and beverage products across multiple categories. This internship offers a unique chance to gain practical experience in food science, product formulation, sensory evaluation, and project management within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct reviews and market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape.

  • Assist in formulation development, ingredient sourcing, and optimization of product prototypes to meet quality, taste, and nutritional requirements.

  • Support sensory evaluation activities, including organizing tasting panels, analyzing feedback, and making product adjustments accordingly.

  • Participate in product testing and validation studies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality specifications.

  • Document and maintain accurate records of experiments, formulations, and project progress.

  • Assist in scale-up activities and production trials to transition new products from concept to commercialization.

  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives and innovation projects within the product development team.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Able to complete an internship in the summer (May/June-August 2024)

  • Must be geographically flexible to relocate to ADM sites

  • Pursuing a four-year degree in Food Science or a related field with an anticipated graduation between December 2024 and Summer 2026

  • Preferred GPA of 2.8 or greater

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to function effectively, both independently and with a team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate within various levels of an organization

  • ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Internships are 10-12 weeks in duration

  • Must be open to relocation to various locations (Erlanger, KY \ Kennesaw, GA \Fort Collins, CO)

  • Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work

  • Interns who demonstrate high potential and engagement may be offered another internship if still pursuing a degree, or a full-time position after graduation

  • ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
