This is a full time, exempt position

This position is for a career driven scientist with a master or PhD degree in Food Science &/or Technology with minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the food industry. A candidate with extensive knowledge of food ingredients (I.e., protein, flavor, carbohydrate & starch, etc.) from chemistry to technology, & application in the final product. A highly experienced scientist with R&D experience in emulsification & encapsulation, product development, validation, scaling up and launching is preferred.

Position Summary:

This position is a key development leadership position that is responsible for identifying, developing and commercializing new and improved products and or processes. This person would work independently and autonomously to create work plans that will have significant positive impact on ADM business. This person will be responsible for using consumer insight driven concepts to develop innovative products that will meet the customer s needs as well as accomplish ADM’s objective of profitable efficient production. The position will be responsible for assessing emerging ingredient and process technologies as well as partnering with key vendors to bring innovation to new product development process improvement and cost optimization. Product development and research activities will expand across a broad range of food products and processes. This position will be responsible for analyzing interpreting and presenting data for effective communication of product development &/or research findings to Marketing Operations and our Senior Leadership Teams. This position requires a strong foundation in project management problem solving techniques presentation skills and relationship building to effectively work with different teams (R&D, Process Engineering Regulatory, Sales Marketing as well as major external customers).

Essential Functions:

• Leverage and expand the knowledge related to ingredients product formulation and food processing

• Support the team for experimentation, validation, scaling up, lunching and further commercialization if needed

• Working with the team in discovering or developing novel carriers & delivery system

• Develop formulation based on novel processes and carriers

Requirements:

• A master or PhD degree in Food Science &/or Technology

• Minimum 5 years’ R&D &/or scaling up, production & commercialization in food industry

• Profound background in food ingredients from discovery of new ingredients to landscaping, R&D, experimentation & validation, also scaling up and lunching new product

• Extensive problem-solving skills and vast experience in providing the solution(s) to the industrial challenges

• Experience to do research & development in different scales and ability to scale up & lunch a new product

• Ability to work with external and internal partners

• Creativity in technical ideas and understanding of industrial practice

• Ability to design creative experimentation to evaluate new process concepts.

• Strong project management skills, and effectiveness in multifunctional teams

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Effective writing and oral communication skills.

• Maintain confidential and highly sensitive information.
