Job Description:

Weigh Up Operator – Erlanger, KY

This is an hourly level position.

Job Summary:

The Production Operator in our Dry Blends, Spray Dry, Dairy, MID, and Weigh Ups area safely and successfully performs the essential job functions consistent with qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Commit to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures

  • Ensure that all ingredients are present and in the correct quantities

  • Ability to make in-process adjustments based on analytical data (Temp., moisture, flow, etc..)

  • Ensure accurate additions of raw materials and intermediates into batches

  • Operate blenders in accordance with SOP’s or management guidance/instructions

  • Operate steam jacketed kettles, vacuum dryers, homogenizers, and pumps

  • Comfortable in processing meat in accordance with USDA standards

  • Responsible for ancillary equipment within a manufacturing environment (sieves, batching systems, etc.)

  • Set up and break down the equipment and make necessary adjustments

  • Use SAP, CMS, and MWS transactions needed for blending

  • Accurately document all work to ensure lot traceability, HACCP checks, etc.

  • Work in compliance with all GMP, OSHA, food safety and internal safety guidelines

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong communication skills

  • Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures

  • Exhibit regular and timely attendance

  • Willing to work overtime and weekends if needed

  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed

  • Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and supportive attitude

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly

  • Ability to pay attention to and focus on small details. i.e., lot numbers, order numbers, etc.

  • Flexibility in accepting change and an attitude of continuous improvement

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successful perform the essential job functions consistent with qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

  • Able to lift 50lbs on a continuous basis throughout an 8 hour shift

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, reach and bend throughout an 8 hour shift

  • Strong communication skills

  • Capability to be self-motivated and have ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Performing routine work assignments and following directions with moderate supervision

  • Prior experience driving a forklift and working in a batch-processing or manufacturing environment

  • Wear a respirator
