Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Unit Manager -- Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. - Erwin, TN

Summary Description of Job:

Ensure all maintenance/electrical operations are executed safely and in compliance with all defined procedural, regulatory, and environmental requirements. Obtain, schedule, and manage the resources required to meet safety requirements within budgeted costs. Recommend and implement process improvements to maintain the proper level of continued support for on-site production facilities. Provide senior-level leadership with the Work Management Department report to the Work Management Section Manager.

Major Duties & Responsibilities of Job:

  1. Sets the standard and is responsible for the Safety Culture, procedural compliance, conduct a NFS workplace priorities alignment of the Maintenance Department.

  2. Responsible for the Mechanical & Electrical/Electronics Maintenance Department. Provide leadership and direction to and through supervisors to support day-to-day activities as necessary to meet the needs of the NFS plant site.

  3. Executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy while supporting the priorities of Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost in all aspects of Mechanical & Electrical/Electronics Maintenance.

  4. Responsible for all programmatic aspects of the Mechanical & Electrical/Electronics Maintenance.

  5. manages and directs assigned maintenance activities based on functional strategy and priorities.

  6. Responsible for originating cost saving concepts for areas of responsibility. This includes apply broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance and influence customer relationships.

  7. Perform duties as assigned by the Work Management Section Manager.

  8. Manage the Mechanical & Electrical/Electronics Maintenance budget and originate requisitions for needed equipment, protective clothing, and tools/supplies. Ensures all invoices and purchase orders are appropriately reviewed and approved to support continued operation.

  9. Responsible for performance evaluations, performance improvement plan, and setting measurable goals for the staff to promote individual development. Pursues development opportunities for direct reports to foster a growth in professionalism throughout the staff.

  10. Coordinates with the Training Department to ensure individuals within the Mechanical & Electrical/Electronics Maintenance department are adequately training and maintain necessary qualifications.

  11. Participate in the Corrective Action Program through PIRCS screening, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.

  12. Foster a collaborative environment with the Work Control and Maintenance Work Groups to ensure Work Management objectives are met.

  13. Responsible for the recruitment and hiring of supervisory and support staff to promote continued support of the maintenance facilities. Mentor supervisors to enhance skills through performance reviews and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Educational Requirements of Job:

B. S. Degree or 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Experience Requirements of Job (Beyond Educational or Equivalent):

With B.S. Degree, nine-ten years' experience of which five years must have been in a supervisory position in the nuclear industry or other equivalent formal training and work experience.

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
