Inventory Supervisor - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, OH

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for establishing and managing the facilities, systems and teams required to ensure that inventory is planned and controlled in accordance with business requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders including Operations, Quality and Procurement, the Inventory Supervisor ensures that inventory is available to support manufacturing and testing requirements and meet the overall needs of the business.


  • Direct the flow of inventory into, through and out of the organization’s storage facilities.

  • Ensure timely receipt and processing of inventory.

  • Escalate inventory discrepancies and deficiencies and drive corrective action to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Manage inventory supply to maximize utilization of space.

  • Coordinate the supply of materials and ensure orders are complete and delivered on time.

  • Complete required periodic cycle counts.

  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for the reporting and analysis of data.

  • Provide reports and results of data analysis to internal stakeholders.

  • Offer recommendations to improve inventory management practices.

  • Manage staff in the inventory department.

  • Oversee the hiring, orienting, and training of inventory staff.

  • Assign and delegate job tasks to inventory personnel to ensure operational objectives are achieved.

  • Develop and implement inventory operational standards for staff compliance.

  • Maintain positive work relationships with internal customers and internal suppliers to ensure smooth business operations.

  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives and KPI’s.

  • Drive change and improvement through lean principles.

  • Comply with regulatory requirements regarding inventory management of controlled materials.

  • Comply with established policies and procedures.

  • Utilize SAP systems to electronically track inventory flow, and reconcile inventory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Five (5) years of supervisory or leadership experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to coordinate between multiple disciplines and personalities.

  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal.

  • High energy, well-organized, with the ability to multi-task and lead.

  • SAP or equivalent MRP experience.
