Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Civil Engineer with a proven high quality work ethic to fill an entry-level position to support the readiness and sustainment of the United States Air Force (USAF) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Weapon System (WS).

In this role, the Civil Engineer will be working with the engineering team of the ICBM Infrastructure Division. Involving interpreting and creating specifications, prepare, review, and validate As-Built drawings. Manage assignments and meet program schedules. Apply structural engineering principles and analytical methods and techniques in supporting four ICBM units performing Real Property Installed Equipment and ICBM Infrastructure maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity to get into the Defense industry!

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining/updating As-Built drawings.

  • Structural Design; analyze architectural plans

  • Understand a projects purpose and function

  • Calculating loads and forces

  • Analyze, using computer software and mathematical models to simulate and predict the performance of structures, ensuring they can withstand anticipated loads

  • To stay current with advancements in structural engineering, engage in professional development activities

  • Perform quality checks for accuracy and compliance of all engineering changes/updates

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Consider safety in all aspects of work and engineering efforts

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, reading comprehension and writing ability

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with varying personalities across all functions

  • Must be able to travel 25%

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Knowledge in USAF As-Built/Civil Engineering Manual requirements and specifications

  • Strong Technical aptitude as well as excellent written and verbal communication

  • Prepare professional documentation for reporting to upper management

  • Engage and collaborate in team-oriented environments

  • Execute projects to improve efficiencies, drive out cost, manage change and mitigate risks

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Access, and share point

  • Knowledge of and /or experience with the Minuteman III ICBM system highly desired

  • Current or recent (less than 2 years) DoD security clearance Secret or higher desired

  • Knowledge of and proficiency in using Computer Aided Design/Drafting (AutoCAD)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $50580 - $85950

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
