Northrop Grumman Associate Systems Administrator in Fort Greely, Alaska

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Field Engineering department in Fort Greely, Alaska has an opening for an experienced Associate Systems Administrator. You will operate and maintain the GFC/C system for daily sustainment training and exercises at the Readiness & Control facility. You will interface daily with MDIOC, internal, external and Government personnel during training, system modifications/upgrades and exercises to develop and determine system configuration solutions to meet customer requirements. You will provide support for new hardware and/or software installations on all GST systems at FGA. Support local test and checkout procedures to verify new systems are ready for integration into the training system. Configure GFC systems using UNIX/LINUX command line interface and other delivered tools, then operate the GST system including verification of training configuration ensuring all systems function properly. You will work with MDIOC counterparts to determine and resolve any GFC, network, or other simulation issues, identify/report anomalies, and perform daily system cleanup.

You will coordinate with contractor personnel to schedule training systems, deconflict them with other activities, and verify training configuration and operation of both GFC/C and the simulation system and/or coordinate with external agencies that support training. You will perform basic system tasks (to include configuration management and data management, when applicable) necessary to maintain the GST systems in appropriate configuration and operation.

Basic Qualifications:

1.Bachelor of Science degree with six months of related experience.Four years additional relevantexperience may beconsidered in lieu ofcollege degree requirement.

  1. DoD Interim Secret security clearance with ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance.

3.The ability towork day, swing and periodically weekend support.

  1. Strong work ethic, demonstrated problem solving ability, willingness to learn new skills, and proactive approach.

  2. Work effectively on a small team with multiple external teammates and customers.

  3. Adaptable to rapidly changing environment.

  4. Self-starter, drive to continuously expand knowledge and assist customer with GMD systems knowledge.

8.Experience with UNIX or Linux platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. GMD GFC/C experience in training and exercises.

  2. Computer and programming skills.

3. Knowledge of military command, control and communications systems.
