The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for the successful development and deployment of our Supplier Quality strategy, programs, and initiatives, working with suppliers from all over the world to deliver a reliable supply of high-quality materials to our manufacturing plants. You will actively partner with stakeholders, individuals and teams, and external suppliers to implement novel solutions and continuous improvements, bringing quality and value to the supply chain and our customers. We are looking for a highly independent team member that can identify solutions to complex problems to accomplish goals and objectives with little direct oversight. The manager will be assigned to lead supplier portfolios and projects of higher criticality, risk, and complexity. You will collaborate with more senior leaders within Quality and other functions to achieve objectives. This role’s scope is primarily North America but will be engaged in projects of multi-region and global scale.
Provide expertise in the selection, qualification, monitoring, and disengagement of new and existing suppliers or materials, including negotiation of Quality Agreements, Audit Remediation, performance monitoring, Change Control and Specification review.
Lead the integration of J&J acquisitions, including transition of approved supplier lists and quality system elements. Work across multiple franchises to support implementation strategy and activities.
Act as a team leader, including goal setting, mentoring and talent development.
Act as QA SME to lead/support cross-functional projects, such as material selection/onboarding initiatives, Sourcing selection/new supplier qualification projects, material governance, CAPAs, quality system improvement projects, and other initiatives.
Design, implement, and improve quality and compliance improvement programs and initiatives, with regional and global impact
Lead initiatives with suppliers to drive remediation of open audit action plans, develop Risk Assessments and mitigation strategies to enable quality performance improvements.
Work together with external senior leadership to collaborate and influence quality decisions and drive continuous improvement of the supplier’s quality system.
Lead supplier or material non-conformance investigations, connecting with supplier to ensure robust supplier investigation and corrective actions, and partner cross-functionally to enable event resolution.
Value diverse perspectives and collaborates as a team member/Manager to enhance relationships and interactions, including communicating with management to inform, drive/inspire change, and provide feedback.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (a focused degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related technical field is preferred).
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in a technical function (Quality Assurance, Engineering, R&D, Data Analyst) or Supply Chain function (Planning, Sourcing, Operations).
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Quality Assurance Environment.
Minimum of 4 years of experience working with suppliers or external partners.
Experience utilizing Data Management tools and software (e.g., Excel, SAP, Trackwise, or related software).
This position may require to up 25% Domestic travel.
Experience working in a Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Consumer Health industry.
Detailed working knowledge of cGMP/FDA requirements.
Supervisory experience in an FDA-regulated industry.
Experience with inspections or audits and developing actions plans to address deficiencies identified.
Familiarity with root cause analysis, Six Sigma tools, or related methodologies.
