Airframe Design
Bell is seeking a self-motivated Airframe Design Engineer to join our engineering team and support the continuing development of our new products. The Airframe Design Engineer is responsible for design activities related to the preparation and release of engineering data related to the completion and certification of this aircraft. This position must maintain compliance to the Airframe Design Manual, Best Practices, Customer and Regulatory Specifications, Bell procedures, Program Directives, and annual CRC requirements.
What you’ll be doing as Airframe Design Engineer:
Create airframe structural designs based on trade studies, research, and analysis.
Create model-based definition, which includes 2D and 3D annotations, for detail, assembly, and installation of airframe components and engineering bill of materials.
Coordinate with other engineering, manufacturing, or specialty personnel to resolve problems.
Mentor other engineers and lead the team in developing technical solutions.
Specific tasks include responding to data/action requests from procurement, manufacturing, tooling, etc.
Execute Tasks to Cost and Schedule Requirements.
Support supplier/teammate design activity.
Support test activity, including test plan development, execution, and reports.
Apply technical knowledge, standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Qualifications
Skills You Bring To this Role :
Proficiency with GD&T and general part sizing.
Proficiency in CATIA V5, CATIA V6, or Enovia.
PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate and lead design activities and report status to program management.
Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams to complete design tasks.
What you need to be successful:
We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.
Multiple levels of experience will be considered with at least 2 years aerospace structural design or transferrable industry related experience.
Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Engineering, Mechanical or Aerospace is preferred.
Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
